About the Role
We are looking for a Design Manager to join our head office in Stockholm.
In this role, you will lead and coordinate the engineering and design phase of our modular facility projects, both in Sweden and internationally. You will manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and collaborate closely with internal experts, external partners, and clients to ensure high-quality technical solutions delivered on time and within scope.
Our projects are complex, highly regulated, and executed for global pharma, biotech, and FMCG clients—requiring exceptional precision, quality, and technical leadership. The Design Manager reports to the Project Manager or the Project Director, depending on the project structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all design activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop and manage design schedules, resource plans, and deliverables
- Ensure alignment between process, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, automation, and modular design disciplines
- Translate client requirements into complete and compliant design solutions
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and GMP/regulatory requirements
- Manage interfaces with external engineering partners and suppliers
- Review and approve design documentation and technical deliverables
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineering team members
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with clients throughout the design phase
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design Engineering, or a similar relevant field
- Documented experience from industrial facility design, ideally in pharma, biotech, or other regulated process industries
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering/design teams
- Strong understanding of design processes, coordination, and interface management
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented with strong communication skills
- Comfortable representing the company in technical discussions with clients
- Fluent in Swedish and English is a requirement (other languages are beneficial)
